Lower Finger Positions

The lower row of the keyboard contains letters that are typed by reaching downward from the home row. It's important to develop accuracy and comfort while reaching for these keys.

Now place your fingers on the lower row:
  1. Move your left hand fingers to keys Z X C V
  2. Move your right hand fingers to keys M , . /
  3. Let the thumbs rest lightly on the space bar
  4. Keep your wrists relaxed and fingers slightly extended downward
Tip! Practice reaching for the lower row without looking. Keep your hands anchored on the home row and stretch your fingers downward.
